OUTDOOR RUGS / RIMA DAIN
Rima Dain was born in Marbella, from an appreciation for things made slowly and lived with for a long time. We design outdoor rugs with the same attention we bring to the rooms within: to proportion, texture and the way a place makes us feel.
Where the idea begins
The Mediterranean is our starting point. Sun moving across a wall. The coolness of stone beneath a bare foot. A line of shade at the edge of a terrace. The sea, sometimes close, sometimes only suggested by the light.
These everyday encounters inform our sense of colour and shape. We look to architecture and landscape, allowing each to leave its impression without becoming a literal pattern. The result is a collection conceived to sit comfortably within its surroundings, with enough character to make a space feel its own.
The room beyond the door
A terrace can be a place for the first coffee of the day, a long lunch or an evening that continues after the light has changed. A courtyard may hold a little privacy. A garden offers another rhythm altogether.
We see these spaces as part of the home, and as an essential part of the experience of a hotel or retreat. A rug gives furniture a shared setting. It brings texture to hard surfaces and helps establish a place to gather, pause or simply be outside.

Designed in Marbella, made with skilled hands
Our rugs are designed in Marbella and made by expert craftspeople in India. Their handwoven character can be read in the surface: in the movement of the weave and the small variations that give the finished piece its individuality.
We work with polypropylene, considering how the fibre becomes a tactile surface, how an edge completes a design and how colours settle beside stone, timber and planting. These details are central to the way we think about a rug.

Our idea of beauty is restrained and close to everyday life. A rug should belong to the space and to the people who use it. It may frame a family table, soften a quiet corner or give a generous terrace a more intimate scale.
