THE WORK OF SKILLED HANDS

Character held in the weave

Designed in Marbella and made by expert craftspeople in India, a Rima Dain rug brings a drawn idea into a tactile form. Its handwoven character is part of how it looks, how it feels and how it settles into a space.

01 / COMPOSITION

From a line to a surface

A design begins with relationships: the width of a border, the pace of a stripe, the meeting of two colours. In a woven rug, those decisions take on texture. Light touches the raised and recessed parts of the surface differently, giving the pattern another dimension.

Seen across a terrace, the composition may feel calm and simple. Viewed closely, the structure becomes more present. Both experiences belong to the same piece.

02 / INDIVIDUALITY

An individual expression

The hand leaves small differences in a weave and its finish. These variations give a rug its own character and invite a closer look at the object itself. Two pieces of the same design may carry subtly different expressions.

We value that individuality. It allows a regular pattern to retain a sense of movement, and a quiet surface to hold interest beyond its outline. The rug remains recognisably part of the collection while bearing the character of its making.

03 /  MATERIAL

Material, interpreted

We work with polypropylene, a manufactured fibre, through the language of weaving. The material becomes part of a wider composition: a rhythm of lines, an open field of colour or a border that defines the rug against the floor.

The choice of tone matters as much as the pattern. Against pale stone, warm timber or green foliage, colours take on different relationships. We consider the finished rug within that setting, as one element in an outdoor room.

Made to become part of a place

Craftsmanship comes into everyday view when a rug is placed and used. A table brings out its proportions. Morning light reveals a texture. The colours of a garden change the way a tone is perceived.

We design with these encounters in mind. A Rima Dain rug is conceived to accompany the life of the space, bringing the presence of a made object into an otherwise architectural setting.
